FAU researchers among top 2 % worldwide

Like each year, Stanford University has published the so-called “Stanford list” – and FAU has achieved exceptional results! More than 200 FAU researchers belong to the top 2 % of the most-cited researchers worldwide. These results are based on an analysis of the database Scopus, the largest database for abstracts and citations for peer-reviewed literature of the publishing house Elsevier.

Roughly 200,400 researchers from all over the world have made it into the top 2 % – 9924 of whom are listed in Germany. 227 of these researchers belong to FAU, among them scientists from the areas of Engineering, Clinical Medicine, and Enabling & Strategic Technologies. The study program Medical Engineering is particularly happy about the placement of Prof. Aldo R. Boccaccini, who achieved rank 26 in the field of Enabling & Strategic Technologies and is thus one of the most-cited people in his discipline in the world.

Prof. Boccaccini teaches in the branch of study “Medical Device Engineering, Production Technology and  Prosthetics”.
