The German constitution, the Grundgesetz (Basic Law), guarantees everyone’s basic rights in Germany. Do you know your basic rights? During the Covid-19-Pandemic from March 2020 until yet the discussion about the basic rights structures the public and even private life. The Federal Constitutional Court delivered number of important judgements. Therefore, this introductory workshop in English and German will focus on those rights in the opening part of the Grundgesetz which may affect your personal life. The Basic Law already has a strong affect of German Culture and the way of public discussions.

•Reading the beginning articles of the Basic Law in German and English.
•Discussing this articles.
•Historical background of the Basic Law.
•Historical background of basic rights.
•Gender equality.
